I use the iOS app in my car and switch from TomTom at lights to put in prices. Problem is, I have to do it sideways because the app doesn't go into landscape mode.

Any chance of getting a landscape mode?

It's not hard. But when I have my phone in landscape mode during a GPS TomTom like app drive, and I'm at a stop light, i don't want to rotate it again.

It's not as easy as just "mirroring" the android app. The development environments and programming languages are completely different for Android and iOS, and since each rotatable screen has to have a landscape version designed, debugged and tested, it is a lot more work than that statement implies.

Should be a simple fix to just mirror the Android app.

scoutmaster: I use the IOS app for my iPhone and it doesn't rotate.

I can see the benefit of rotation, but then I don't post gas prices while I'm moving/driving or stopped at a light, so I can tolerate the non-rotating app.

scoutmaster, he said he uses the iOS app, from what I've seen you say you use Android. The iOS / iPhone and Android apps are somewhat different.

The iOS / iPhone app does not follow the phone's rotation. It only handles portrait mode, so with the phone in landscape mode for his navigation app, the GasBuddy app is in the wrong orientation. And inferring from the post, he may have the phone in a dash mount to make using it with the navigation app easier, so removing and re-orienting the phone would be difficult.

CK,

Mine switches when I rotate my phone. I'd bet most do.

This suggestion has been added to the Suggestion Tracking List as new.

SM: That's his point. He has turned it sideways and the app doesn't follow like most apps can.

Really? Turning it sideways is too hard?
