It seems that gasoline prices have been getting more and more unstable lately. This week we saw average gasoline prices fall to their lowest level in 2010, but we also saw the first time in weeks that gasoline prices began to push higher. We also saw cheap gasoline prices in the Midwest completely dry up and fall right back in line with other areas.

Let's start off on that- Midwest gasoline prices. Supply was plentiful and buyers seemed absent from the market late last week and early this week, driving buyers out of their mind. It seemed that no one was around to buy their gasoline, so prices fell dramatically. Earlier this week, gasoline for delivery in a few areas of the Midwest were as much as 20-cents cheaper than gasoline in...

This isn't so far fetched now as Washington just released a plan to raise the gas tax to facilitate a gas price of $7 a gallon in order to cover their green climate change plans. So everyone ready now, here they come again!

I've got to hand it Pres. Obama and his Chicago crew, they have to be the most arrogant, socialistic, self-centered White House operation in the history of America. We have to stop them before we have nothing left and nothing left to say about anything.

There are no real reasons for the price climbing & dropping over the most minute reports.

Dosen't matter about supply and demand in Canada, they put the prices where oil companies want them, and the gov't gets more tax dollars when prices are higher.

"gasoline prices have been getting more and more unstable lately" Really? Wow, you're quite the economic genius. Have you been living on the moon for the past two years? Hello? Gas prices have been unstable for a while now. Read a paper once in a while.

Once again, the principles of Supply & Demand do not apply when it comes to oil & gas pricing. The element of greed is the driving force.

The first story was about oil prices dropping because the dollar strengthened, however gas prices in Taylor, TX seem to have jumped about 20 cents in the last few days!

Have you ever thought about how much petroleum it takes to make a pair of sneakers ?

Or what people put on their feet when they walk a lot ?

Or why walking is one of the easiest ways to lose weight ?

OR how many pairs of sneakers you need to walk to the supermarket for a year

VS how many gallons of gas you need ?CONSERVE . . . . CONSERVE . . . . CONSERVE

It is healthy to conserve

Somehow the link between market forces and the price of oil (and its byproducts) has to be reforged.

And I LOOK before I pull into a gas station. $8.87, I do NOT pull in.

And yet another reason to be glad to NOT live in California.

Any evidence that our oil stockpiles are high seems to be overridden by the speculation that the economy is improving thus speculator "believe" we will be using more oil.

"We also saw a gasoline station in California raise prices $6/gallon- that's right- six bucks per gallon- overnight! The price spotted was a whopping $8.87 per gallon at the Pasadena station, where motorists were apparently still filling up, according to a local news story."

Hopefully, the state of California has an anti-gouging law and can fine this station owner far more than he/she gouged their customers.

It looks quite obviously that the 'specdevils' are hitting the market in a big way! Of course that makes the oilbarons smile, because they can join in on the fun with their own greed!
Some of us are so used to the 'fluxy' market that we belly up to the bar quietly. After all what control do we have and what does those we elect try to help. No one with any clout cares to face up to the problem!

It seems like postings (like this one last week) woke up the sleeping giant (Speedway) in the Midwest, causing it to raise prices 20 cents per gallon almost immediately after this article was posted. Don't do us any more favors, please...
