Voters think gas prices pose a serious threat to nation’s economic recovery

A large majority of American voters think gas prices pose a serious threat to the nation’s economic recovery. In addition, voters are sharply divided over whether President Obama could do more to bring down gas prices -- or whether he even wants gas prices to go down.

Nearly half of voters, 47 percent, say high gas prices pose an “extremely” serious threat to the economy, according to a Fox News poll released Monday. Another 40 percent consider it a “somewhat” serious threat.

Sixty percent of Republicans think high prices at the pump are an “extremely” serious threat to economic recovery. That’s nearly twice as many as the 33 percent of Democrats who think so.

They don't own and operate the oil companies. They could adjust the taxes. Politicians are just the ones available for people (voters) to go too for when they have troubles. The price of gas is one trouble a lot of the voters and other face. It is a surprise that the democrats are not blaming the republicans for the raise in prices! The 2 always feud with each other!! CNN, etc all one has to do is take almost any of their news stories and follow to it's source for the correct or true story. That is if one of the mainstream reporters didn't make it up as they went along which is quite frequently the case. Their insulting remarks of anyone not Liberal enough are not only ugly but, at times, down right disgusting with rarely if ever an apology. Chris Matthews or the The Ed Show many others fall into this fold. Your CBC handles our news even better than any of them do. There's a reason these networks are on the bottom of the ratings and Fox commands the top year after year since it's inception. Plain and simple they're losers! Oil prices are high because there is high worldwide demand and limited supply, or at least an expectation of limited supply in the mid/long run. 78% of Republicans think the president could reduce oil prices? How many thought Bush could in 2008? I'll bet a whole lot fewer. These polls are silly.
