Maybe the American public isn't as stupid as it seems. (Really surprised 33 percent of libs pulled their heads from their backsides long enough to realize high fuel prices pose a serious threat to recovery.)

Politicians have their limits of what they can do. They don't own and operate the oil companies. They could adjust the taxes. Politicians are just the ones available for people (voters) to go too for when they have troubles. The price of gas is one trouble a lot of the voters and other face.
It is a surprise that the democrats are not blaming the republicans for the raise in prices! The 2 always feud with each other!!

You said it, Panama Red!!! Since we are retired, our income has dropped - our investments went sour after spreading our wealth.... Can't sell our house without losing lots of hard-earned money.

Of course; the price of virtually everything in this country is tied in some way to the cost of fuel. How can people buy anything when prices are so high and their income is not increasing?

Obama is a big part but not all of gas prices, he has cut 70% drilling on federal land and lies that were drilling more than ever? yeah ok but do you tell people its because your drilling on more private land and shiping it to china! NO YOU DONT!
Obamas policys are hurting coal and natural gas and oil because hes all green with solar and wind and im sorry but you have wasted more than enough of our tax money on solar and we saw 9 companys fold after you bailed them out and were out that money.. Obama must go in Nov!

I don't usually hammer back at fellow Gas Buddies over news providers but to exclude Fox, the top choice by any survey, and insinuate as did kelly1016 Victoria, B.C.. over losers such as MSNBC,NBC,ABC. CNN, etc all one has to do is take almost any of their news stories and follow to it's source for the correct or true story. That is if one of the mainstream reporters didn't make it up as they went along which is quite frequently the case. Their insulting remarks of anyone not Liberal enough are not only ugly but, at times, down right disgusting with rarely if ever an apology. Chris Matthews or the The Ed Show many others fall into this fold. Your CBC handles our news even better than any of them do. There's a reason these networks are on the bottom of the ratings and Fox commands the top year after year since it's inception. Plain and simple they're losers!

All forms of ENERGY prices pose a serious threat to the economy. Everything you buy is transported and/or harvested in fuel burning vehicles.

Why are Republicans for a "free market" except when it comes to gas prices? Oil prices are high because there is high worldwide demand and limited supply, or at least an expectation of limited supply in the mid/long run. 78% of Republicans think the president could reduce oil prices? How many thought Bush could in 2008? I'll bet a whole lot fewer.
These polls are silly.

This can’t be true. I have read a number of news articles right here on Gas Buddy that made it clear that gas prices cant, don’t and won’t affect the economy. Who should I believe??
