Volvo XC60 takes it to next level

Boston Herald -- Can an automobile be too safe?

It’s a strange concept to contemplate, but in reviewing Volvo’s new XC60 crossover, that thought crossed my mind. Volvo made its reputation creating some of the safest cars on the road and in some ways this compact SUV could be considered its crowning achievement.

To say this is a safe car is an understatement. It offers parking assist with rear camera, ready-alert brakes that stop the car for you in near-collision conditions, pedestrian detection, driver-alert control that detects fatigue or distraction on the part of the driver, stability and traction control, distance alert, speed-dependent steering control, both crash warning alarm and light, lane-departure warning, a blind-spot information system and a whiplash protection system.

Distracted drivers will be more distracted.

Car is well ahead of me, I will have enough time to react. Can get quite interesting when driving in the cities. Which is what most of us drive anyway. I will give Volvo this, this SUV looks really nice. Interior looks really nice. Little out of my price range, but still might be worth checking out if you have the money. Not sure if you really need assistance when driving behind the wheel. Maybe drive not distracted in the first place. Then again you have to watch out for all the other idiots on the road.
